3D work
Sculpture and multimedia is kinda of my for-fun side hobby but I figured I’d showcase it anyway
Teotl mask project.
For my open studio class I was instructed to make 5 finished pieces with a coherent theme and style and present them by the end of the year.
Me being me I decided to be super extra and make 5 wearable art pieces representing Mexicá gods. I have been very interested in the mythology and history of the Nahua, Mexica or Aztec people. Partially as a means of connecting with a distant part of my heritage, and mostly just because it’s really really cool and poorly underrepresented in the media.
These masks are made from paper mache with a cardboard base.
